March 2020 Wrap Up

Holy cow. If you’re reading this, we did it. We survived March 2020. I am so proud of myself and all of you for staying safe and reading all the books.

Speaking of books, let’s look back at what I blogged about and read this month.

This month I made NINE! blog posts! Ten if you include this one.
Two posts were book hauls!
Book Haul! & My Anxiety Driven Book Haul
Seven posts were book reviews!

My first book of the month was a WWII novel about female pilots. This novel was gripping, emotional, powerful, and so lovely. I loved every second while reading this one, even the seconds when I was crying.

My second book of the month took a little while to finish. This is such a unique story, and unlike anything I’ve ever read before! The magic system was captivating, the writing was magnificent.

I won this book through a giveaway hosted by Goodreads! I was so excited to read this, and it didn’t go the way I expected. What I thought was going to be a heavy romance, is actually being discussed more as women’s fiction. People are loving this for all the reasons I didn’t, so I’m sure this novel will end up in good hands.

This was my BOTM pick for March, and I actually read it in March! I am the best!!! I’ve never read a political thriller, but I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced, heart racing, page turner!

This. Book. Is so good. I already want to reread it. This was a 12 Dancing Princesses retelling, set in a castle by the sea. There was a whirlwind romance I wasn’t expecting, there was a super creepy element to this I was not able to read at night, and I was so surprised by this book! Seriously, check out my full review and see if you should pick it up yourself.

Spoiler alert: you should pick it up.

Oh SJM…how I have loved you. This one however…we had major differences of opinion. I wanted to love this one. I was ready to fall in love with these characters. Sadly, none of that happened.

Another show stopping read for March! What the heck! This was a Beauty and the Beast retelling I could not get enough of. These characters, are the freaking best! I enjoyed their banter, I enjoyed their totally unique worlds, I enjoyed the stakes in this one. I just enjoyed all of it. Bravo!!

I’m currently reading this beauty right here. I should have it finished by tonight or tomorrow. Right now, all I’ll say, is that I am enamored with it. *heart eye emoji* I want to read it as fast and as slowly as possible.

I also started this book, in the hopes that I would finish it and be able to watch the Netflix show. I don’t know if the show takes place during or after this novel (I’m actually planning on making a blog post comparing the two, so I’ll have my answers soon enough). There’s so many other things pulling my attention away from this book, even though I’ve really enjoyed the 100 or so pages I’ve read so far.

That was my month! We had SO MANY GREAT READS! And a few less than great ones. I was able to get a bulk of my reading done during our “spring break,” which was really just panic and pretend your on vacation in your backyard. We’ll see how April treats me, now that I’m working from home full time, and thoroughly exhausted at the end of the day.

How was your reading in March?
Were you able to read a lot, or not able to concentrate?
Stay safe, friends. And Happy Reading!!
