Hey guys! We’re only one day away from starting the #stayhomereadingrush readathon, and I thought I’d start posting some of my tag questions and answers!
Today I’ll be answering “How is your reading going while staying home?” and “Where have you been reading at home?”
My reading has been a little sporadic while staying home. Some days I’m able to knock out an entire book (hello, Saturday & Sunday), and sometimes I don’t read for an entire week.
I think part of the problem is that I’m still working from home, and my job requires me to record myself reading to my students. So while, no, I’m not reading books for pleasure, I am still reading for my job.
I guess looking at it that way, it’s understandable that after 8 hours of reading books out loud, and then editing those videos, I don’t feel much urgency to pick up one of my own books and dive in.
I’ve mostly been reading in three places: my couch, my zero gravity lounge chair, or my bed. When I found out chances were pretty high that we would be quarantined and home from work, I immediately ordered the zero gravity lounge chair from Target. One of my favorite places to read is on my back porch, but we had the most uncomfortable, old, rusted beach chairs that were a nightmare on my back. That purchase, along with the many book hauls, have been the best decisions I’ve made since quarantine began.
